Pets Microchipped, Animal Charities Supported

The following is an excerpt from an article in the Fullham Chronicle about a project created in the Self-Expression and Leadership Program.

Dog lover puts best foot forward

A dog lover went walkies for a good cause to support two animal charities. David Watson, of Brackenbury Village, planned the three-mile sponsored walk around Wormwood Srubs on Saturday.Despite blustery winds, 35 people turned out with their pets to raise £160 for Blue Cross and the Dogs Trust.Dog owners had the chance to get their pets microchipped free and pick up some dog product vouchers.

Mr. Watson was prompted to organise the fundraiser while studying a self-development course with Landmark.

“I love dogs. I had dogs when I was a child, and we adopted Lucy from Battersea Dogs Home two-and-a-half years ago,” he said. “When she was in a little scrap, Blue Cross treated the other dog.”

And on Sunday, the charitable man was busy taking part in the London and Brighton bike ride to raise cash for the British Heart Association.
