For her project in the Self-Expression and Leadership Program, Lynne Richardson is supporting young people in creating a family play day in Plymouth, Massachusetts, called “Into our World” Day. The project was created with the desire to empower children and parents by coaching child leaders to create this fun event for families in their communities. According to the Into our World website, the eight young people, who call their group “Creative Kids”, are creating “a day of activities to bring families and friends together to play and bond with a focus on being healthy and active.” The project was written about in the Patriot Ledger newspaper of nearby Quincy, MA.

Lynne Richardson is helping a group of children organize an event where families can come together and play. The “Into Our World” Day will take place on Saturday, August 23rd at the JunglePlex in Plymouth. Richardson said she hopes the day will help parents remember what is like to be a child.
“We can lose sight of what there is to learn from our children because we choose to see only what there is to teach,” Richardson said.
“So I created this project to make a difference in the self-esteem and self-expression of children and to empower them in bringing families together.”
The event will take place from 10 am to 2 pm and will cost $5 per family.
